Spring Retreat

On Friday, April 20, 2012, we'll depart Scottsdale for a weekend retreat in Prescott, Arizona - our very own Camp Wannastitch. We have an exciting project planned along with break out sessions on a variety of stitching techniques using the latest designs and fibers. The fee for Camp includes transportation, all meals and our stitching project.  Please join the fun!

A Weekend for Stitching and Friendship

Two times a year, women of all ages, from all walks of life and from all parts of the country gather together for 3 days of stitching, classes, eating and laughing. Camp Wannastitch is a 3-day stitching retreat we hold in both the spring and fall. A chartered coach picks us up at the store at 8:00 a.m. on Friday and travels 2 hours north to a retreat in the cool pines of northern Arizona. After arriving at our Retreat, we immediately start stitching and continue throughout the weekend.  We share our love of stitching and quickly connect over our shared needlework passion.  Before we know it, it is Sunday afternoon and we are saying goodbye to the lovely cool weather  and heading back to the Valley.

We have a dedicated stitching room where each stitcher has ample space to keep stitching projects and our must-have accessories close at hand.   We never have to put our stitching away the entire weekend!  Right after lunch on Friday we start our project.  The projects are designed to teach a new technique or make use of the many new products that are found at market. We love to introduce stitchers to new fibers, fabrics, and techniques. We also fill the weekend with handy tips and tricks that make stitching and finishing easier. We try to vary the projects because there is always something new to try and learn. You also bring up your own stitching projects to work on during free time.

You'll love our Old Town Needlework Retreat  Boutique which always features a Trunk Show from one of our favorite designers as well as new and fabulous designs and accessories recently released to the needlework community.

We love to feature a counted canvas design for our Camp Project.  We all stitch the same pattern using a blend of overdyed threads, silks, cottons, metallics and beads. Each stitcher selectS her own color palette of fibers and canvas to create her own individual design. All of us enjoy viewing the works in progress come to life.

Accommodations are cabins with beds.  Each camper provides her own linens and pillows.  For those travelling from out of state to attend our Retreat, we have those items available for you.    We dine on incredible food - the sticky buns for breakfast are not to be missed.
